The style of gameplay is a combination of the previous Paper Mario titles and Super Mario Bros. The game began development for the Nintendo GameCube but was later ported to the Wii, possibly because the Gamecube already had Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door. This already comprehensive list is getting updated to include more titles with strong narratives that can rival and even better Final Fantasy. Super Paper Mario is a platform/role-playing video game developed by Intelligent Systems, a division of Nintendo. Thankfully, the RPG and JRPG genre is vast and there are lots of games with arguably better narratives and characters for fans to enjoy while they wait for the sequel to the Final Fantasy 7 Remake or Final Fantasy 16. The stories from classic titles like Final Fantasy 4, 7, and 9 transcend the technology they were built on because the writing is so great.

Fans did get three Final Fantasy 13 games, but no definitive Final Fantasy 7 sequel or even a Final Fantasy: Tactics re-release. Pushing all of that praise aside, the series trades on its reputation a bit, as well.Ī major problem with the series is that it doesn't follow the adventures of the same characters often. While some FF games are certainly better than others, Square Enix is more or less batting a thousand when it comes to the series. Fans often even say that it contains some of the best games ever made. There's a good reason for this as the Final Fantasy series is one of the best RPG franchises.
It's extremely difficult to talk about RPGs without bringing up Final Fantasy.
